The Author Behind the Words
Jermaine Rolle’s passion for poetry began at a young age and grew into a lifelong commitment to the craft. In 2015, he published his first collection, Cries of a Poetic Soul, choosing to self-publish and invest fully in his vision.
After winning a local poetry competition as a youth, Jermaine recognized both the power of opportunity and the lack of authentic platforms for writers. Determined to change that, he founded the Centerville Urban Renewal Poetry Competition in 2012, creating a space where young voices could be heard and celebrated.
Today, that vision continues through the Bahamas Poetry Competition — a national platform designed to nurture talent across generations.
For Jermaine Rolle, poetry is more than expression. It is legacy, leadership, and love shaped into words.
